How Our Horses Are Trained

We use Clinton Anderson's Downunder Horsemanship Method of Training. We start training our horses at birth using the foal series.  However, we do use an external source when starting horses to ride.

Check out the training method we use for training horses. It is well worth your time and money! There are a lot of FREE videos on Youtube, but I can tell you, you get way more information and training with a subscription.

Our Horses

Champ's Dandy Rosebud

  • Rosebud was the first horse to bless us here at HicksFarms. An incredibly brilliant, kid broke mare that gave us our start into finding our true love and passion for all things horses! As we accumulated more horses to our herd, Rosebud was our lead mare; nobody messed with her. (Not even for grain!!!!) We are sad to say that Rosebud is no longer living today, but we will never forget all the incredible memories we have with her.

Prettyboy

If there ever was a perfect horse, Prettyboy was the one! The ultimate kid loving pony with a twisted sense of humor. He was the source of adventure for me personally growing up. Unfortunately,  he is no longer living but will forever live on in our hearts. His hugs will be sorely missed. No horse will ever compare to the greatness he was!

Rosebud's Coat of Color (aka "Trixie")

  • Trixie is the last mare we raised out of our beloved mare Rosebud! She shares her mothers incredibly brilliant mind. I honestly don't think you will ever find a smarter horse.

Sired by WGC TWH Rainbows Revelator

Solomon's Fools Gold (aka "Holli")

  • Holli is a half sister to the mare that began it all for us, Rosebud. Holli was born April Fools Day, 2000 and was named after a man I would consider to be a legend in my family, Hollis Randolph Sr. She still resides with us here on our farm and was a great mare to ride in my youth.  This mare is such an amazing mother to the fools she has produced. I have never seen a mare more eager to be a momma. Holli now has just one eye and it doesn't phase her a bit. She is not spooky or anything. But, still enjoys a good snorkel in her water bucket (Eye Balls Deep) for dropped feed.

Seminole's Painted Angel

Angel was raised here on our farm out of Holli. She is a very in your pocket type of horse. She shakes your hand and is the only horse I know that actually enjoys dewormer. (She will SEEK IT OUT, the Freak!)

Legacy

Legacy's name is quite fitting. She is the last born foal out of Holli. She will forever be her Legacy. We are thrilled with how beautiful she has turned out to be.

Sired by our own stud "High Tech Solider Boy"

Senator's Dazzle Me Daisy

Daisy is a very quiet mare. She goes along with anything and everything without a care in the world. She has raised some really gorgeous foals for us. All around great great horse to be around!

Sire by WGC TWH Senators Prime Design

Fancy was raised here on our farm out of Daisy. We wondered for the longest time what color she was.

Fancy

Outragously Lucky (aka "Lady")

Lady was the first mare we ever purchased with TWHBEA Papers. She fit in so perfectly with us from day one. This mare gets along with any horse that is willing to exist in peace in her personal space. Very gentle easy going mare. Since we purchased her, we obviously didn't give her her papered name. If we had, I don't think we would have misspelled her name. (Drives me nuts)

Klein's Patches of Pearl

High Society Romance

Hightech Soldier Boy (aka "Soldier")

Soldier has been one of the most well behaved stallions EVER! He would rather flirt with the ladies than actually get the job done....if you know what I mean!
